About Uka

Uka is a video platform for people who want to publish and watch without wading through an algorithmic slot machine. It carries long-form videos, short vertical clips, written posts, and communities built around shared interests — all in one place, on the web and on Android.

What you can do here

  • Watch. Long-form video and a vertical shorts feed, with no account required to browse.
  • Publish. Upload videos and clips, write posts, and organise them however you like.
  • Gather. Start or join communities, comment, and message other members directly.
  • Earn. Creators receive a share of the advertising revenue their content generates, tracked in a wallet that shows where every fraction of a cent came from.

How creators are paid

Advertising revenue is pooled and settled against measured views, so payouts follow what people actually watched. Earnings are tracked at sub-cent precision — a video with a handful of views still registers something, rather than rounding away to zero. The wallet breaks earnings down per video, clip, and post.

How it is built

Uka runs on a globally distributed edge network, with video stored and streamed from object storage close to the viewer. The Android app and the website share the same backend, so your feed, history, and wallet are the same wherever you open it.
